Who doesn't love sweet, sugary foods? Sweets at our house don't last very long, and after the sugar rush is gone, all that remains is the sorrow you feel after a trip to the bathroom scale. When Jelly Rolls and other "dessert precuts" were introduced to the quilting world, it was a revelation. For the first time ever, quilters could purchase a complete tasting of a fabric collection at a reasonable cost, perfectly coordinated, and already pre-cut into strips, squares, and so on. Talk about convenience.
Need a good cookie recipe for this week's trick or treaters? These white chocolate cranberry pecan cookies have the right amount of sweetness. The white chocolate adds a creamy element, and the Craisins are wonderfully chewy. The pecans give you just the right amount of crunch. These cookies can be packed and mailed well. They are a hearty cookie, so they are perfect to mail or seal in ziplock bags for trick or treaters.
One of my favorite quilting designers is Lori Holt. I love all of her charming country quilting books and videos. And being a Farm Girl myself, it's an automatic that my favorite collection of Lori's books and fabrics is FARM GIRL VINTAGE 1, FARM GIRL VINTAGE 2, and VINTAGE CHRISTMAS. I love it so much, that beginning in January 2020, we will be doing all three of Lori's Farm Girl Vintage Books in a Block of The Month Class.
Anne Rowan has done it again with this bright and cheery KEEP SHINING BRIGHT collection from Wilmington Prints. Adorable florals, birds, hummingbirds, and smiling suns in soft pinks, yellows, and aquas.
