New Milestones from Kansas Troubles

One of my favorite lines of fabric is KANSAS TROUBLES. Kansas Troubles Quilters was born in 1989 when three friends began quilting together & selling their wares at craft shows. After many requests for the patterns of their original creations, two of the women continued their endeavors in the quilting world by publishing their patterns for wholesale distribution to quilt shops beginning in 1994. More than twenty years later (after another partner retired in 1999), Lynne Hagmeier has created hundreds of quilting patterns, published 2 dozen books (five in a series of historical quilts as well as quilters journals) & designed over 50 collections of fabric with Moda. There’s always something new in the works at Kansas Troubles Quilters - from new fabric lines to books, patterns, workshops, retreats & cruises.

Lynne learned to quilt over 25 years ago at a local quilt shop in Salina, Kansas, called The Quilting Bee, while working there part time. Her love of quilting evolved from other interests over the years; from cross-stitch & painting to home decorating & antiques. In 2000, Moda fabrics offered Lynne an opportunity to design fabric for their growing company. What a thrill to create a line of fabrics in exactly the colors you want & then make a quilt you've designed with that new fabric! In 2001 (after the last kid went off to college), she & her husband Robert sold their house & moved to a restored two-story brick building in Lynne's childhood hometown of Bennington, Kansas, to expand her studio & offer Quilting Getaways on the weekends. Robert joined the business full-time, promising Lynne that if she designed & made quilts, he'd do everything else. Lynne is traveling several times a year to quilt shops and guilds across the country to offer programs & workshops from her quilt books & patterns.

Lonesome Pine Quilts did a show one time and our booth was right next to Lynn and Robert's booth.  What a delightful couple they are.  And needless to say, I fell in love with her fabrics and patterns.  This MILESTONES collection is her latest collection for 2019.

Come by the shop and check out Lynn's latest collection in yardage and precuts, or visit us online at lonesomepinequilts.co.
