One of my family's favorite cookies is Paula Deen's BUTTER FINGER COOKIES. They are so simple to make and are beautiful on a wedding shower table and soooo delicious. You can shape them in fingers as above or into powdery white snowballs.....
Or even into crescent moon shapes.
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 (16 oz) box confectioner's sugar
Preheat oven to 325 °F. Combine all ingredients except for confectioner’s (powdered) sugar.
Roll into small fingers or balls. Bake for 20-30 minutes. Roll immediately in confectioner’s sugar. I roll mine twice in powdered sugar.
